Don L. Horn, a native of South Florida, is a father, a grandfather, an attorney, and a Christian. Born and raised in Miami, he is the divorced father of three adult children, one of whom passed away from cancer several years ago, and the proud grandfather of five. A graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, Don is an attorney who practiced for a total of 41 years as a state prosecutor, and in private practice as partner in a major law firm and founding partner in his own firm. On May 31, 2023, Don retired from the State Attorney’s Office in Miami (the 4th largest prosecutor’s office in the country) where he served for twenty-one years as the Chief Assistant State Attorney for Administration, During his four decades of practicing law, Don helped the legal community and the community at large by serving on several voluntary and appointed boards including the Florida Bar Board of Governors, the Housing Finance Authority of Dade County, Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. and the Dade-Miami Criminal Justice. However, notwithstanding his family and his community, Don's greatest commitment is to the Lord and the church where he is blessed to serve. He accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of 12. After drifting away during his teenage years, Don recommitted his life to Christ when he graduated from college and returned to Miami and his original church home. There, for more than 20 years he served as the church musician (plays the organ and piano), director for three of the church’s choir groups, and teacher of an adult Sunday School class. He also served as a member of the Deacon Board, Board of Trustees (Co-Chairman), and was Legal Advisor for the church. For more than 15 years Don has served as a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Miami Gardens where he continues to spread the Gospel as an Adult Sunday School teacher, is a member of the Diaconate Ministry and sings with the Male Chorus. As he neared his retirement date in May of 2023, Don prayed that the Lord would give him more opportunities to serve Him, spread the gospel and fulfill the Great Commission. He views this opportunity to work with ETR as an answer to that prayer.
